How Music8 works

Music8 is a network of specialist platforms for music, education and the wider arts, built on shared infrastructure.

This page explains the parts in plain language: what is free, what the paid services cover, and how Pro, Partner and Console fit together.

01

The building blocks

A network, not one website
Music8 runs specialist platforms for different parts of the sector, including MUSIC:ED, CHORALLY and ArtsCSR, built on shared infrastructure.
One organisational relationship, relevant platforms
An organisation does not need separate subscriptions for each Music8 platform. Its presence and content can appear where editorial relevance and platform fit support it, rather than everywhere automatically.
Basic LivePage — free
A relevant organisation can hold a basic presence at no charge. This does not include Console users, Partner publishing entitlements, campaign credits, managed support or Partner designation.
Directory: an editable profile
Directory costs £240 or HK$2,480 a year for one organisation on one principal platform. Console access maintains the enhanced profile only; it does not include direct publishing, transactional listings, campaign credits, reporting, managed support or Partner status.
Useful information can be free too
Relevant events, opportunities and other genuinely useful sector information can be included free where appropriate.
One-off listings & campaigns
A job listing costs £120 + VAT or HK$1,280 and includes one listing on the relevant Music8 platform or platforms plus one LinkedIn post linking to the vacancy. It does not include repeated posts or guaranteed audience or reach. A managed event, course or opportunity costs £150 or HK$1,480. No subscription is required; taxes apply where relevant.
Pro adds tools and services
Individual Pro, Pro Manager, Choir Pro and Choir Sites provide tools and enhanced presence for individuals, managers, choirs and ensembles.
Self-service publishing or managed work
Pro provides tools and enhanced presence. Music8 Partner provides self-service publishing; managed partnerships mean Music8 carries out agreed editorial, publishing and campaign work. Bespoke collaborations are scoped individually.
Sponsorship is separate
Bespoke collaborations may include regional hubs, sector development, onboarding networks and international introductions or representation. Contributions, responsibilities, intended outcomes and scope are agreed separately; these activities are not automatically included in standard annual packages.
Music8 Console
Console is the shared account and management area. One login, and access to whatever you are permitted to manage.
Editorial stays separate
Editorial decisions are made on the merits of the material. Paying for a service does not buy editorial coverage or preferential editorial treatment.

Choose a free Basic LivePage, a paid editable Directory profile, or commission a single listing without a subscription.

  3. 03

Use Pro for tools, Music8 Partner to publish your own content, or managed partnerships for work carried out by Music8 within an agreed scope.

  4. 04

Publish and distribute through relevant workflows; use campaign credits only for agreed priority activity where included.

Rolling outSome account types and self-service tools are being introduced in stages. Where a step is not yet self-service, the Music8 team sets it up with you.

03

Editorial and commercial

Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial relationships. Paying for a publishing service does not buy editorial endorsement.

Routine factual records, such as an organisation profile or a straightforward event entry, are published as supplied. We do not check every detail for you, so keep your own records accurate and up to date.

Editorial content such as interviews, features and commissioned articles may be edited or reviewed where that is appropriate, and is agreed with you first.

Partnership campaign credits can support agreed featured campaign treatment. Nothing can be bought to the top of an independent editorial page.

04

Common questions

Do I have to pay to be listed?

No. A Basic LivePage is free for a relevant organisation, and useful events and opportunities may be considered through normal editorial workflows.

Listings, content and publishing

Can my organisation appear on more than one Music8 platform?

Yes, where relevant. One organisational relationship can work across the platforms it fits, without separate subscriptions. It does not mean every item appears everywhere.

What is Music8 Console?

The shared account and management area for Music8. What you see there depends on your account type and permissions.

About Music8 Console

What is the difference between Pro and Partner?

Pro provides tools and enhanced presence. Music8 Partner provides self-service publishing; managed partnerships mean Music8 carries out agreed editorial, publishing and campaign work. Bespoke collaborations are scoped individually.

Plans & pricing

Does paying affect editorial coverage?

No. Commissioned publishing services put your listing in front of the right audience. They do not buy editorial endorsement or priority editorial treatment.

Who is Music8 for?

Individuals as well as organisations. Many people use Music8 for their own professional presence with no organisation involved.
